Units of the Airborne Forces undergoing combat coordination

At one of the training grounds of the Western Military District, units of the newly formed air assault regiment of the Air Assault Unit, staffed by citizens who have entered into a contract, are undergoing combat coordination. Under the guidance of experienced commanders, paratroopers practice practical issues of assault operations to capture a strong point.

Paratroopers, in cooperation with armored groups on T-72B3M tanks and Typhoon-VDV armoured vehicles, as well as flamethrower units with fire support from attached cannon and rocket artillery units: 122-mm D-30 howitzers, Grad MLRS and 120-mm mortars Sleighs capture and clear populated areas from military personnel of enemy forces entrenched in them.

During the assault, special attention is paid to the order and sequence of making passages in mine-explosive barriers, and the use of fire maneuvers from attached and supporting artillery together with air assault units. An important issue worked out in the classes was the actions of the reinforcement units on the captured line with the support of mobile anti-tank groups on pickup trucks with Kornet ATGMs and an armored group of the air assault regiment, during which the personnel practiced practical actions in repelling enemy counterattacks.

Based on the experience of a special military operation, various unmanned aerial vehicles, both reconnaissance and attack types, designed to destroy enemy personnel and equipment, including FPV drones, which are skillfully controlled by paratroopers, have been widely used on the battlefield. This was clearly demonstrated during the lesson, when FPV drone operators hit mock-ups of armored vehicles with high accuracy. Classes at the training ground are held daily, in any weather, where commanders widely apply the experience gained during a special military operation in Ukraine.
