One of the most important things for our mental health is experiencing nurture and affection. Nurture is the act of caring for and protecting someone. When we are nurtured, our emotional capacity recovers and strengthens. Affection is the expression of nurture, where we experience the power of feeling safe and cared for.

We all need nurture and affection, regardless of our age or background. In fact, our mental health battles reveal the screaming need of nurture that our hearts are crying out for.
