WHO ARE YOU?

Psalm 8:4-7
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field…

Sages, philosophers, theologians and man of all ages have asked this question. Who are we? Where did we come from, where do we go when we die, how old are we?

1 Corinthians 2:11
For what man knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of man, which is in him?

Your spirit knows how long your spirit has been in existence? Was your spirit created the day you were conceived on earth, or at the point of your birth? To answer this we need to look at a few scriptures.

Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

In the first 37 chapters of the book of Job, Job is complaining about his lot in life and the great trials he was going through… In chapter 38 God calls him to account and asks him a question.

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Declare to Me, if you have and know understanding. God is asking Job where was he when the world was created. God then defines this period in time in verse 7…

When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

In other words…when the foundations of the earth was laid, you was there Job shouting for joy… We also as sons of God were there then and saw it all… Then God goes on to say this:

• Job 38:21 AMP: You must know, since you were born then! Or Because you are so extremely old!

It sounds like God is mocking Job, however, that’s not the case… The scriptures are clear that Job was one of the sons of God who shouted for Joy when this world was created… and you were there too, when this world was created.
