TURNING A FAILED PAINTING INTO A SUCCESS: How I Salvaged This Gem

This painting started out as a simple kitchen art/asparagus painting. I meant to keep it simple and a bit contemporary looking. The only problem was, it was BORING! So item by item, I started adding things to this painting until it was full of beautiful hydrangea and a big blue and white bowl with lots of interesting fruits and shadows in the foreground. Totally unexpected and unplanned, but it has quickly become one of my favorites! This quick version will show you how it progressed and turned into something beautiful!
