Is Halloween Ends A Disasterpiece?

I have to place the new Halloween trilogy in the same category as the new Star Wars trilogy... they have some bright spots, but they don't make sense as a cohesive story. The unfortunate fact is that Halloween Ends had a wonderful story staring the filmmakers right in the face... but they chose to ignore it.
