They are located on the island of Bohol; there are more than a thousand of them on the island. Nobody knows the exact number. According to some sources there are 1200 of them, according to others 1776.

The hills, when viewed from a distance, are shaped like truffle candies. The same convex, even shape. And during the dry season (February-May), the grass on the hills burns out and they turn brown, exactly like candy. Hence the tasty name.
