A soul always knows.

There's a difference between our fleshly desires and what our souls need. So often our soul knows when something is amiss. In this case, the best way to describe the sensation is a fish out of water. Or a fish in the wrong kind of water. The pain and suffocation are real to the soul, even as the flesh doesn't fully experience this. We all belong somewhere.
