Telling the truth versus projection

Telling the truth out of love is biblical and a vital aspect of all relationships. At times someone may call you out on something. Yet what they are calling you out on isn't anything you're dealing with, healing from, or even a part of your personality and day-to-day life. When they do this, it's called projection. What they're attempting to place on you either resides in them or they picked up on it from someone else. It's a spirit that has to be dealt with. Seek the Lord as to how to go about handling it and provide the right perspective and truth of the situation. Forgive them and pray for their deliverance.
