Some need silence. Be willing to sit with someone in their need for it.

This is something that spans over multiple generations and on both sides of the scenario. Many are accustomed to filling time with others with words, thinking it is necessary. This isn't meant to be rude. It's either how these were taught or their love language is words of affirmation.

Then others are surrounded by noise and, at times they need the presence of a person without the words. It's hard to stay silent in these times for certain ones. However, if you yield to this when they need it, it's a gift to them.
