Idaho's Transgender Bathroom Law

A federal judge has allowed Idaho's transgender bathroom law to go into effect after it had been temporarily blocked. The law requires public schools only to allow students to use bathrooms and changing facilities that correspond to their biological sex and implement a civil penalty for districts that don't.

The law has been criticized by advocates for transgender students, who say it is discriminatory and will put transgender students at risk. Supporters of the law say it is necessary to protect the privacy of all students.
