When Alice dropped down the rabbit’s hole, I hardly think she was expecting a cup of tea to be at the end of her sudden descent….and yet there it was!
Tea, it seems, can be found almost everywhere…and almost always makes any situation better.
At least, that is the stance of those of us in the Little House, where tea is almost never outside a pot long enough to grow old and likewise in the cup.
So, it should really come as no surprise to anyone who knows us that a party which revolves around tea….would be celebrated enthusiastically!
This video is part two of the Thoroughly Modern Vintage Pixie’s Lady’s Tea Party…and if that isn’t a mouthful, I don’t know what is!
An elaborate menu filled with delicious offerings, mostly from the pages of the vintage cookbooks found on our shelves, was prepared by the "Pixies Two," with a bit of help from the rest of us.
The table was dressed in fine China, gold rimmed Fostoria stemware and polished silver flat ware…
And despite a great deal of effort to iron, fluff, and re-iron…the damask table cloth refused to cooperate, and so there ended up being a wrinkle or a thousand in the Pixies otherwise perfectly set table! (Obviously, we did not consult the vintage Domestic Science book concerning the art of ironing)
Fortunately for us, no royalty showed up to the tea party, and thus, we avoided a terrible scandal!
In the end, the tea flowed freely, the food was enough for a proper army, the table was beautiful, and the guests and conversation were delightful!
I know, for our part, we were greatly refreshed in spirit and body by such a lovely afternoon!
