I recently dismantled my Austin Precision Bass to find the culprit. Turns out I had grounding issues. I went the extra mile to load my guitar with copper foil and discovered a few missing pieces along the way.

You don’t need much gear, just a screwdriver and some copper foil from your local hardware store.
