“Let me stress that the European Union does not have sanctions on Venezuela. What we have in place are targeted individual restrictive measures on individuals that have had responsibilities in terms of either violence or of obstructing the democratic process. They do not affect Venezuela as a country or the Venezuelan people. Our primary concern is the improvement of the humanitarian situation in the country and the well-being of the Venezuelan population”.
