The wife, son and daughter of Al Jazeera correspondent Wael Dahdouh has been killed in an Israeli air strike in central Gaza. The Dahdouh family used to live in Gaza City, but when the Israeli army issued an evacuation order, Wael sent them to the Al Nuseirat refugee camp for their safety. He remained behind to report on the situation in northern Gaza. Wael was reporting from Gaza City on Wednesday evening when he was told they had been hit. Wael’s son Mahmoud was in his final year of high school and his daughter Sham was just seven years old. “The indiscriminate assault by the Israeli occupation forces resulted in the tragic loss of [Dahdouh’s] wife, son and daughter, while the rest of his family is buried under the rubble,” Al Jazeera Media Network said in a statement.
