I reviewed the Convoy S6 with SFT40 - this is a hidden gem that I can't believe I missed out on. It's the perfect budget tactical thrower and tactical flashlight, and anyone can get one! It's basically a better-looking, throwier version of the S2+. Find out why this is my new favorite budget thrower in my video.

Convoy S6 SFT40

General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• So the S6 is a host I've been wanting to try out for some time now. The main thing that interested me was that it has a deep, SMO reflector - seemingly perfect for a pocket thrower. The reflector reminds me a bit of the one from the FC12, except slightly larger. Having used this light for a couple weeks now, I can say it does not disappoint.
• What comes in the box: lanyard, battery (if purchased with the light), the light
• Size comparison with S2+, FC12, PD35R, Warrior Mini 3

Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
• I love the clean and minimalistic design. High-quality machining and electronics, especially at this price point. Checkered knurling increases grip, as the actual anodizing is quite smooth. Some small cutouts on the battery tube, and areas to attach a clip. I've attached a screw-on clip from Convoy. The screws slightly touch the rubber boot of the switch. Light is operated through the single switch on the tailcap (reverse clicky).
• This version comes with the SFT40. You can also get one with an NM1, SST40, 519a, SST20, and more. The S6 is perfect if you're looking for maximum candela in a small host. LED is perfectly centered. The reflector is almost twice as long as the one in the S2+. Simple bezel, smooth, no crenulation. You can access the LED easily by unscrewing the pill. As usual with Convoy, you can mod your lights easily.
• There are two beefy-looking springs under the head and on the tailcap - great for absorbing impact.

UI - modes
• 12 groups. I have the 5-mode grouping (0.1, 1, 10, 35, 100%). You can set it to 100% mode only and use this as a 'tactical' mode. You can also deactivate memory mode too. This is handy if you want the light to always start in the first mode. Reverse clicky - press completely to switch on. Half-press to cycle between modes.

Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• CCT, CRI, Ceiling bounce test
• Beam profile

Considerations
• No onboard charging. Would be nice if Convoy included a clip (preferably deep carry).
• Gets hot after prolonged use at 100%.
• Other than that, I can't think of any other considerations - you get so much value at this price point.

Verdict
• This is a great long-range, yet pocketable flashlight that comes at a very affordable price point. Almost anyone can get one of these. The SFT40 produces a huge amount of light for a host of this size, and I was blown away at how far this thing can throw. It outperforms all my other pocket throwers of this size, at a fraction of the price.
