The Most Magnificent Lighthouse in America

Towering on a hill 100 feet above sea level is one of MidCoast Maine & Islands most majestic lighthouse. Built in 1852, the Owls Head Light Station has guided ships through from the sunniest days to the stormiest nights. It's still running and maintained by the Coast Gaurd.

Visiting this lighthouse is a ~22 minute drive from Rockland, Maine and an easy 10 minute hike (with steep stairs at the end). If you come just before sunset you'll get even more epic views of the surrounding islands.
