Chapter 8: The “How?”

The Matrix Trilogy was incorrect when it implied that (because some events are inevitable) the real power was knowing “why” those events occurred. In actuality the real power is in determining “how” the inevitable events occur (whether in a good righteous way or in an evil sinful way).

Time-travel is banned in the classical sense. However, information from the past and potential future can still be transmitted to the present. Furthermore, there are temporal nodes (which are inevitable events that must be accomplished like items in a list for a scavenger hunt). There is no power in determining “why” an item is on the list for a scavenger hunt. The real power is in determining “how” an item on the scavenger hunt is going to be checked off and in what order. The real power in life is determining how you reach the temporal nodes in your life (whether in a good righteous way or in an evil sinful way). It is a curse and a blessing to be able to see all of the temporal nodes in your life even if it is veiled in your subconscious. What happens if that veil is torn and you are able to get more than just a Déjà vu feeling when you reach a temporal node? What happens when you “remember” memories of temporal nodes that haven’t happened yet (even if it is just in your dreams)? You cannot put these temporal node memories in context yet because you haven’t chosen yet what order they will occur and how they will occur (whether in a good righteous way or in an evil sinful way). If you can extrapolate what the temporal nodes in your life will be, then you know where you must go but must determine “how” to get there in the best way. In a ski competition, you need to maneuver around all of the flags. The flags are like temporal nodes. You need to reach all the temporal nodes without losing points by sinning. Just as a skier needs to maneuver around the flags without being hindered or wasting time. If you know where you are and where you are going to be, then you simply need to plot the best course even if it is a difficult course. If I know my situation is going to drastically change and my fortunes improve, it would be foolish to play the lottery and let the Enemy cause the change to happen his way. It would be wiser to work hard and be diligent and let the change happen in the Victor’s way. The Enemy tries to tempt you and trick you into being rash and reaching the temporal nodes in your life in a way that will ultimately lead to your destruction. The Victor tries to help guide you to have the patience to reaching the temporal nodes in your life in a way that will lead to your long-term benefit.

If there is a problem that needs to be solved, “how” it is solved is extremely important. The problem can either be solved in a way that causes more harm or less harm in the long-term. It might be tempting to take drugs that will alleviate symptoms in the short term but over time cause side-effects that damage your health in the long-term. Sometimes it might be more beneficial to endure the symptoms in the short term to avoid the side-effects in the long-term.

It is always important to differentiate between discomfort and damage. If something would cause damage, then certain courses of action need to be done to correct it. If something would merely cause discomfort, then some courses of action that cause side-effects should not be implemented (and the discomfort simply endured). Wisdom is needed because for the special cases of extreme discomfort (that could cause psychological damage), the side effects-might be the lesser of two evils.

It is always important to differentiate between want and need. If an objective is a need, then drastic measures might be necessary to achieve it. However, if something is merely a want, then some drastic measures that cause side-effects should not be undertaken (and the deficiency simply endured).

It doesn’t matter what you accomplish in life, but rather what really matters is how you accomplish it (whether for good in a righteous way or for evil in a sinful way).
