Here a simple recipe for Chicken Shami Kabobs:

Ingredients:

- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup chana dal (split chickpeas), soaked in water for a few hours
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Drain the soaked chana dal and boil it until it's tender. Drain any excess water and let it cool.

2. In a food processor, combine the boiled chana dal, ground chicken, chopped onion, green chilies, minced garlic, minced ginger, and all the spices. Blend until you have a smooth mixture.

3. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. Add the chopped coriander leaves and the egg. Mix everything well.

4. Shape the mixture into small patties or kebabs. You can wet your hands to prevent sticking while shaping.

5. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the kebabs and cook until they are golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

6. Place the cooked kebabs on paper towels to remove excess oil.

7. Serve the Chicken Shami Kabobs hot with mint chutney or your favorite dip.
