Dear Pastor Bob: Do I have to have faith like Job to go to Heaven? I know the way is Jesus, but I have been through so much stuff in my life. I battle daily with suicidal thoughts, constant disease, constant PTSD, traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, and I wish I would’ve just died in Afghanistan. I feel I have no purpose, and so many ailments that hold me back daily. I try to push through like a good Marine but I hate how I feel every day. My divorce hurt the worst. It’s been two years, and my mental health has plummeted. I struggle getting out of bed every day. God has blessed me with so much, but it’s so hard to live this Christian life and leave all my military mindset in the field. I am filled with hopelessness and stress. PTSD is something that isn’t going away, and it’s to the point where it’s breaking me down so much that I want to throw myself into chaos/war but I have family that wouldn’t understand.
