Easy Ways To Make Popular Kids’ Toys At Home
Moon sand, slime, play doh -- these tactile toys will engage all your children's senses. Learn to make them yourself -- you can even involve your kid in the creative process!
Kids love playing with toys that they can create things with. This is why Play-Doh is as popular as it is. Play-Doh gives kids the opportunity to play with a soft malleable substance and create whatever they wish with it. It is great and helps with their creativity and imagination!
Parents love to give their children something to have fun with, therefore, slime and Play-Doh are the perfect options for that. This video will teach you how to make these for your kids. These are cheap methods and kids will even love the process of helping you make them. Making something of your own and then using it is much more rewarding then using something you bought from the store!
Every parent should take a look at this video if they want to create something with their child and give them something fun to play with and enjoy. Hopefully, you let them help you with the process of creating their own toys as it would add much more fun to the game!
The first thing this video helps you create is a version of Play-Doh. Play-Doh was originally invented in the 1950s and was created as a non-toxic modeling component for children. It was mainly used for arts and crafts and was great for developing creativity among children. Most of the ingredients are household items, so don’t worry!
First, get one cup of hair conditioner and place it in a big bowl for mixing. Next, mix it with 2 cups of cornstarch. Corn starch will give it the doughy feel that you usually get when playing with Play-Doh! Now that you have a cup of conditioner and two cups of cornstarch in your bowl, you should start mixing. That is the perfect time for your child to step in. Let them bury their hands in the mixture and blend it all together. Kids love to get messy when doing their projects!
When the mixing is complete, your child can choose their favorite color to make their Play-Doh. After choosing their color, put some drops of food coloring in the mixture and continue mixing until you get your own Play-Doh. It is now complete and ready to be played with! Great job!
For the next project, we’ll teach you how to make slime. For this, you will be using clear glue that kids use in class. It can get sticky but after the glue you will add Sta Flo, a liquid starch, and start mixing. You can add some glitter if you like, but beware this is where things get very messy! Soon you will have some great sticky slime to play with!
Last but not least, learn how to create a moon sand. This is one of the coolest toys because it resembles the sand on the moon. Put flour and baby oil in a bowl and start mixing until you get the thickness and consistency you want. It is that easy! These are very simple creations to make with your children and they only take minutes of your time. This will keep them busy for hours and let them explore more of their creative side. Hope they have fun with their new toys!
