On May 1, 2023, a Monroe County deputy in Warrens, WI, attempted to pull over a vehicle with no license plates and a loud exhaust. The driver evaded the deputy and engaged in a chase. Spike strips were used, causing him to crash into a ditch and flee on foot. However, the driver was apprehended shortly afterward. During an interview, he mentioned caring for his grandmother and a warrant as motives for fleeing.
