John the Baptist was one of the most significant figures of the New Testament. He announced the coming of Jesus Christ, baptized scores of people, and showed people what a deeply spiritual lifestyle was like.

However, in the end, he was arrested and beheaded because he criticized the king's marriage. God has saved his servants before, like Lot, Joseph, and Daniel's friends, so why didn't he save John?

The answer will certainly surprise you.
