Metal Gear Solid Casual Playthrough [Part Two]

In part two of our playthrough of Metal Gear Solid [One] which was originally released on Sony's Computer Entertainment System, called the PlayStation, in 1998, we continued from the top of the roof where we defeated the Russian attack helicopter model designation Mil Mi-24 (Hind D) with an American man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) called the FIM-92 Stinger. We made our way to the elevator which was out of order on our ascension to the roof of the coms tower and found that it is now working. We press one of the two buttons (labeled 1 and 9) and as the elevator descends it is revealed that there are four genome soldiers using stealth camouflage prototypes that Hal “Otacon” Emmerich had stored in his lab located in B2 of the weapons storage building. After defeating the stealth enemies, we make our way out to the snow field where we encounter for the second time the highly skilled sharpshooter code named SSSniperWolf, after an intense battle involving the Remote Missile launcher named Nikita that we used to disable the electric panel in Hal “ Otacon” Emmerich’s Lab located in B2 of the weapons storage building. After the fight with SSSniperWolf, we switched discs and took an extremely long elevator ride filled with expositional codec calls down to the lower level of the facility only to run into the “Giant and Shaman” Vulcan Raven who is half Native Alaskan American and half Inuit. A sloppy battle ensues where we use a combination of the American man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) called the FIM-92 Stinger and directional anti-personnel mines called “Claymores” to defeat Vulcan Raven. Making our way out of the cargo area where we defeated Vulcan Raven we journey into an even larger warehouse, and it is revealed in a dramatic cutscene that Metal Gear Rex is housed here. After climbing a series of ladders and making our way to the control room we notice that Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake and Revolver Adamska Shalashashka Ocelot are having a conversation about Sergei Gurlukovich (!!SPOILER WARNIGN!! Who makes an appetence during the prologue tanker mission in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty before being shot and left to drown by Revolver Adamska Shalashashka Ocelot). The two men notice Sold “Dave” Snake is listening in on the conversation and sound an alert while mocking Solid “Dave” Snake as the door to the control room closes. What follows next is a lengthy backtracking mission in which we have to wait in two previous areas in the game while we wait for the PAL key to change its shape, corresponding to the temperature in each area. After inserting the last PAL key, Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake reveals that he has been impersonating McDonell Benedict "Kazuhira" Miller, a.k.a. “Kaz” a.k.a "Master" Miller and then proceeds to exposition dump on us revealing that we are twin clones of the antagonist of the previous two games, Big Boss a.k.a. John a.k.a. Jack a.k.a. Naked Snake a.k.a. Punished Snake a.k.a. Saladin. He also reveals that the genome soldiers we have been killing this whole mission are also clones of Big Boss a.k.a. John a.k.a. Jack a.k.a. Naked Snake a.k.a. Punished Snake a.k.a. Saladin which means we have been killing our clone brothers this whole mission. After the exposition dumb we fight Metal Gear Rex with out trusty American man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) called the FIM-92 Stinger followed by more exposition involving Frank Jaege a.k.a. Grey Fox a.k.a. Cyborg Ninja before Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake smooshes him with Metal Gear Rex’s foot. Another fight ensues with Metal Gear Rex which is completed by using the American man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) called the FIM-92 Stinger again. Exposition dump continues until we end up in a battle of fisticuffs with Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake. He falls to his death, and we make our escape with Hal “ Otacon” Emmerich after discovering that we inadvertently killed Meryl Silverburgh by succumbing to the torture sequence on the previous disc after our first fight with the highly skilled sharpshooter code named SSSniperWolf. In one last plot twist, Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake catches up to us in a Jeep while we are on our way to the exit and after causing a vehicular collision by ramming his Jeep into our Jeep the three men plummet out into the Alaska snow and as Liquid Eli White Mamba Snake makes one last dramatic attempt to gun us down but he collapses into the white fluffy snow blanketing Shadow Moses Island in the Fox Archipelago, lying southwest of mainland Alaska in the Bering Sea, having succumb to the Fox Die Virus. Credits roll but not before Hideo Kojima sneaks in a joke referencing 2001: A Space Odyssey.
