White Lie

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us....
Be careful because the sin that you consider small grows by day and, before you know it, you will have a habit that tarnishes your character, your reputation and your morality. We are easily entangled by sin when we befriend sin, and delude ourselves by thinking that small doses of sin do not have a sum-up effect that only destroys us in the end. Be on guard because the devil comes to steal kill and destroy.
A white lie is a lie. There's a great saying that goes (and I'm paraphrasing), 'if you lie you have to remember the lie all the time, but if you tell the truth you don't need to remember anything.'
