The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office rescued a tortoise. They posted the pictures of the rescue on their Facebook page. They say on Sunday, a homeowner in Englewood called them to report a large gopher tortoise had fallen into her pool and sunk. They say the tortoise was quickly rescued and monitored. A deputy returned it to a nearby burrow. The tortoise appeared to have made a full recovery.
