Israel has targeted a market in the Nuseirat neighborhood, one of the biggest markets that refugees relied on to buy their supplies. Palestine health ministry officials say at least 200 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza in the last 24 hours. More than 18,000 people have been injured since Israel started its bombardment of the Gaza Strip on October 7, as per the Palestinian health ministry.
The UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that another six of its staff had been killed in Gaza, bringing the total killed to 35.
Qatar’s ruling emir has said Israel should not be given a green light for unconditional killing. “We say enough; Israel shouldn't be granted an unconditional green light and unrestricted authorisation to kill”, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani said.
Meanwhile, Israel’s president, Isaac Herzog, has accused Hezbollah in Lebanon of “playing with fire” in Israel’s north. In a joint media appearance with Emmanuel Macron, he described the Hamas attack as “one of the worst atrocities of modern times.” “We demand the immediate release of all our citizens,” Herzog said, speaking alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.
