Why Strive to Earn What You Have Already Been Given?

It's a pretty deceptive trick to sell someone something that they already have. Interestingly, this is exactly what Adam and Eve were sold in the garden. Made in the image and likeness of God, they didn't need to be like God; they already were. They were offered the knowledge of good and evil, when they were only designed to know good. There was no need to learn evil. Nonetheless, here we are today and I for one am looking forward to the restoration of all things!
