Torch of Christ Ministries - The Sacrifice of Cain

In the book of Hebrews, we learned that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And we learned that Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice unto God than Cain. Now it wasn’t even that Cain’s sacrifice was less heartfelt than Abel’s. I believe that Cain really did mean it with his heart when he offered God his sacrifice of vegetables. But when we are outside of faith, we find that we are often doing the wrong things even with the best of intentions. Only by faith can we be led of God, and only then will we realize how powerful obedience becomes.
