Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a country in the southern portion of North America. It is bordered to the north by the United States; to the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; to the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and to the east by the Gulf of Mexico.
Mexico is one of the chief economic and political forces in Latin America. The longest river in Mexico is the RÃo Bravo del Norte (also referred to as Rio Grande). This river begins in the southwestern USA and flows into Mexico.
The largest lake in Mexico is Lake Chapala near Guadalajara.
The "cardon cactus" is the world's biggest cactus! The Mexican giant cactus measures up to 21 metres/ 70 feet in height and can be seen in the deserts of Baja California. These cacti can live up to 300 years.
