OREGON - I-5 Bridge MONEY PIT

The I-5 Bridge needs to be replaced. Our government has spent $261 million to STUDY the bridge replacement. $65 million was spent in 2009 and in 2013 $196.6 million was spent. All of it spent with no conclusive plan. Earl Blumenauer insisted that the bridge include light rail which in the design made it impassable by large ships. So, back to the drawing board. Now government officials say it will cost
$6 BILLION to replace and are proposing to place tolls on the bridge pre-completion to fund the construction.
