Storm Shield Forecast morning update 9/29/17

High pressure continues to dominate the state again today, so expect a high of 93 in Bakersfield, 87 in Lake Isabella, 79 in Tehachapi and 76 in Frazier Park, but there's a change on the way! We're getting an increase in northwesterly flow, bringing fresh ocean air onshore starting Saturday. That will kick up the winds through the passes and down into the desert, so take it easy if you're traveling through the mountains tomorrow afternoon. That will decrease our pollution and drop down those temperatures to seasonal averages by the end of the weekend, meaning upper 80s tomorrow give way to a forecast of just 85 on Sunday. That means for our mountain friends, we'll see highs in the low-80s in the Kern River Valley this weekend with Tehachapi and Frazier Park getting spoiled with sunny 70s.
