Saline evaporating & crystallizing under a microcope

Video documenting the last stages of a single drop of normal saline evaporating and crystallizing under a microscope, along with some photographs of structures formed.

A single drop of .9% saline was applied to a glass slide, without a cover slide, and left to evaporate. It took about 45 minutes for the drop to evaporate and reduce in size to this stage where structures began to form.

Microscope used was a Celestron 44340 digital microscope.

Magnification 10X.
