The creator of the popular animated film "Shrek,"
William Steeg copied his character from professional wrestler Maurice Thieu.
The real prototype knew 14 languages, played chess brilliantly, and despite his intimidating face and enormous power, was a very humble and friendly man.
He was born in 1903 in Russia in the Urals to a French family, which returned to France in 1917 due to the revolution.
