Axur, re D'Ormus is an opera by Antonio Salieri, 🎶 composed in 1788. The opera is based on a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte and tells the story of the son of a Persian king, Axur, who must choose between his love for a slave girl and his duty to his kingdom. Although not as well known as other works by Salieri, Axur, re D'Ormus 🎼 is considered an important part of the composer's oeuvre and contains some of his most beautiful and complex music.
