William Munroe, a population analyst in British Columbia, knew early in the pandemic that the virus was largely dangerous to the over 80 age group with comorbidities. Neil Ferguson, a well known health forcaster from England, said many people were going to die from the virus and that message was hugely promoted by the media. William reports that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation gave Imperial College, where Mr. Ferguson works, a grant for $100 million in 2020. Regarding the accuracy of Mr. Ferguson's prediction, William said, "John Ioannidis from Stanford said it best and I can paraphrase: that it was below standard."
