Recreating the "Soft Focus" Signal Chain from the Yamaha FX500

Two disclaimers: First, this is just a recreation of the Soft Focus signal chain and not an attempt to get the same exact sound from the Soft Focus patch on the Yamaha FX500. Second, I omitted two FX from the original chain which are a compressor and EQ. While a compressor and an EQ are nice to have mixed in, I can always add these in a later video and they're not 100% necessary to showcase the Soft Focus sound. I just wanted to stick to the actual modulation FX for this video.

As for the sound I achieve in this video, on the delay pedal I dialed back the feedback and used a quicker time compared to the original Soft Focus patch, which is a slower-building and washed out delay sound. The rest of the FX (reverb, flanger, chorus) were mixed to my own preference.

You can do a lot of things with this chain which works nicely with your cleans/OD. You can also add a distortion/fuzz to this chain for even more sounds, which I intend to do in another video.
