When Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant discharged nuclear wastewater into the sea, China launched a publicity campaign denouncing Japan. Chinese public reacted, and demand for portable nuclear radiation detectors soared. With the device in hand, the Chinese started to test everything, and what they found was troubling. China's nuclear industry has grown exponentially, but the country's capacity to manage nuclear waste is severely underdeveloped. Where has China's massive amount of nuclear waste gone?
