AI deep fakes are running rampant and now famous Youtubers are getting roped in. Here’s how to protect yourself from getting scammed:

Mr. Beast recently tweeted a video showing an AI deepfake advertisement of him telling users to click the ad for a free iPhone.

He questioned whether or not the popular social media platforms are ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes. And considering this ad got approved in the first place, it looks like the answer is no. It is unclear how many users have already fallen victim to these AI scams, but things will only get worse as the technology improves.

And the companies that own these social media sites couldn’t be bothered to make this a priority because their entire business model depends on advertising revenue.

We need social platforms that value identity and security of its users rather than advertisements.
