Buffalo food plot RE drilling fall food plots & 10 day follow up
OCT 20, 2023 Southern Illinois proving grounds; Join us today for a full length and indepth fall food plot update video as I re plant some of our fall food plots for deer here on our Southern Illinois property, since we got hammered with 2 separate droughts this late summer and early fall. Some of my fall food plots got scorched from the droughts, and a few simply got overtaken by insisious weeds! So in today's Southern Illinois land management episode I will be re planting the fall food plots that got burned up by the droughts, or got overtaken by the weeds. I'll be using my 2023 KIOTI NS6010 hst cab tractor with a TYE NO TILL drill to re plant by no till drilling some of the food plots. Of course this is PRECISELY why I always stagger my food plots to help mitigate Mother Nature's wild swings when it comes to growing some tonnage for fall food plots! Also in today's land management update episode we will be no till drilling one of my food plots that I experimented with the Buffalo food plot system. In this particular food plot I crimped the grains and grass/weeds this spring, and kept it burned off this summer so that I could drill this plot to see just how the Buffalo food plot system would work for me. So in today's episode I will no till drill this Buffalo food plot and then compare it to my other fall food plots that I did traditional tillage on and compare the difference. To be honest I had high hopes for the Buffalo food plot system, but in reality, I was sorely disappointed! And if you watch today's full episode you will see why! So weather related food plot failures such as what I experienced this year are why I stagger all of my food plots to try to mitigate the extreme weather swings that we experience down here in the Mid South, as we are located in the middle of a sub tropic weather zone and we experience some pretty severe weather swings down here. (We are in FAR Southern Illinois, however we are physically farther South than the Northern part of the state of Kentucky!).
