On July 17, 2022, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, an officer conducted a traffic stop in response to a vehicle that had disregarded a stop sign. It was later found that the driver, Jason, had a suspended drivers license and had an active warrant for another police department.

After two of his family members arrived, Jason decided to attempt to flee from officers on foot, initiating a foot pursuit which promptly ended in an officers taser being deployed. Officers searched the area for anything Jason might have discarded during the foot pursuit. Nothing of note was found.

Jason was taken to the hospital where he was medically cleared before being taken to jail for his warrant. He was given citations for operating while suspended, no motor vehicle insurance, and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was charged with and found guilty of resisting or obstructing an officer and sentenced to 2 years probation.
