FROM THE ARCHIVES: Jane Wiedlin (The Go-Go's) interview with Darren Paltrowitz

Close to 20 years ago in 2002, I interviewed Jane Wiedlin in advance of a Go-Go's show at Long Island's Westbury Music Fair. The band was touring in support of a new-ish studio album "God Bless The Go-Go's," which featuring a song co-written with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Sort of a weird time for The Go-Go's as they were 15 or so years from having a Broadway musical produced and almost 20 years from a Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction. Also have to remember that in 2002, Green Day was still a few years away from its "comeback" via "American Idiot." Jane was a pleasure to speak with -- I edited out the call drop mid-conversation -- as she entertained a lot of non-sequiturs from yours truly, a 19 or 20-year old local "journalist."
