Feature-length silent film, a drama produced by Cosmopolitan Productions, based on the short story of the same name by American writer Fannie Hurst.

A girl named Minnie (Miriam Battista) plucks a flower from a plant on the windowsill and places it inside a box with a dead kitten.

When Minnie's father (Louis Stern) finds the box, he is shocked and wants to throw it away. Minnie begs him not to.

It was the first film to win the Photoplay Medal of Honor, a precursor to the Academy Award for Best Picture.

In 2015, it was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
