Short silent film produced by Solax Studios and directed by filmmaker Alice Guy-Blaché, a pioneer of French cinema.

One of two films by Guy-Blaché to survive from his 300-plus oeuvre, its preservation was funded by the Women's Film Preservation Fund.

In 2003, it was selected for the U.S. National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
