Our solar system consists of eight major planets, starting from the innermost and moving outward:

Mercury: The closest planet to the Sun, Mercury is a barren, rocky world with extreme temperature variations, ranging from scorching hot to frigid cold.

Venus: Often called Earth's "sister planet" due to its similar size and composition, Venus is known for its thick, toxic atmosphere and sweltering surface temperatures.

Earth: The only known planet to support life, Earth is a diverse and vibrant world with a wide range of ecosystems, climates, and a unique variety of life forms.

Mars: Often called the "Red Planet" due to its rusty appearance, Mars is a cold desert world with a thin atmosphere and has been a focus of exploration for its potential to host past or present life.

Jupiter: The largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter is a gas giant with a tumultuous atmosphere, featuring a prominent system of colorful bands and the famous Great Red Spot, a massive storm.

Saturn: Known for its stunning ring system, Saturn is another gas giant, and it has a similar composition to Jupiter, with a plethora of unique moons and spectacular ring features.

Uranus: A unique ice giant with a nearly sideways rotation, Uranus has a pale blue-green appearance and a system of faint rings and moons.

Neptune: The farthest major planet from the Sun, Neptune is another ice giant, known for its deep blue colour, strong winds, and a famous dark storm called the Great Dark Spot.
