Baylan Skoll will prove to be more important to Ahsoka season 2’s narrative than Grand Admiral Thrawn. Ahsoka season 1 was all about preventing Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return to Star Wars’ prime galaxy. The formerly missing Jedi Ezra Bridger had defeated Thrawn at the Battle of Lothal in the Star Wars Rebels series finale, dealing a decisive blow to the Empire’s power structure and paving the way for the Rebel Alliance’s eventual victory at the Battle of Endor. With the Imperial Remnant trying to regain a foothold in the galaxy while the New Republic has been attempting to build a better future, it was more important than ever that Grand Admiral Thrawn be stopped.
