Putting the Piper Warrior "on the numbers" at Milton

This footage and comm audio was part of a recent ~2hr flight lesson, which I recorded for better post-flight debriefing. It is very raw in nature, with minimal editing.

I want to get ahead of the curve a bit and address this before it inevitably comes up.
There has been discussion over the years on if it's a good idea to have cameras in the cockpit during flight instruction or not. I believe the only correct answer for this is, "it depends." It depends on the situation, but most importantly, it just depends on the person.

If you are new to flying, do not record. It will give you little benefit that early on, and likely only cause a distraction. If you do decide to record a flight later on in your training, set it and forget it.

As soon as the before start checklist pops open, I go straight to "airplane mode" and can easily forget about the camera. At this point in my training, where I'm trying to get rid of subtle habits that I may not catch right away, recording flights has been an invaluable tool.
