Gaddafi: ‘Africa For Africans!’

It’s 12 years to the day since Muammar Gaddafi was assassinated by NATO-backed forces and his body paraded for the world to see. And it’s fiery speeches like this one here that probably made the former Libyan leader a marked man from the start. In it, his staunch Pan-Africanist, anti-imperialist views are on display - he passionately urges Africans to unite and rise up, assuring them that, together, they are strong enough to liberate their continent.

Another thing that no doubt made it easier for the likes of France and the US to green-light the NATO intervention that deposed the ‘king of kings’ was that he pushed hard for a common currency in Africa - posing a direct challenge to the financial exploitation of the CFA franc and dollar hegemony on our continent.
