Panicked 911 calls report kidnapped toddler in Forest Park

A 15-month-old child is safe after a late-night kidnapping on Kemper Meadow Drive, but a Green Township Police K-9 collapsed and died in the pursuit. Police dispatchers say three men carrying guns robbed a home at about 10 p.m. Monday and took the child with them. Officers with Green Township assisted in the search, eventually finding the child and a fourth suspect, 19-year-old Anquan Williams. Police are still looking for three suspects. However, the police dog Dino did not survive the chase. Green Township Police Chief James Vetter said Dino collapsed and stopped breathing just before midnight as he was starting to track the suspects. Vetter said Dino's unexpected death was due to a medical event. "He had a reputation as an outstanding police canine and very much loved his work. He will be sorely missed," Vetter wrote in a news release.
