On the day that US President Joe Biden visited Israel, a senior official of his administration resigned. Josh Paul quit from the US State Department over Biden's policy of expanding weapons supply to Israel amid the latest spate of fighting with Palestinian group Hamas, which is based in Gaza. Paul accused Biden of repeating past American mistakes, and only creating a situation which would cause greater suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians
