Today we are joining Angie from @MiAnUAcres in her collaboration to help inspire meals on a budget. Her collaboration #mealsonabudget is for the month of August, hosting three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner with other youtubers. The idea behind it is to help create affordable meal ideas for the family. She is aiming to feed a family on a whole budget of $5.00 per meal per family. I thought, why not give it a try. To be honest, it was a lot harder than I expected. Our breakfast meal today came to a total of $2.69 a person, a tad over the $5.00 mark but when comparing it to restaurants, who can eat for $2.69? That being said for 2 of us who ate today it was $5.38, if my husband was with us for the breakfast it would have came to $8.07. With todays costs of living and food prices I think we can all appreciate learning more ways to cut the costs around the house. There are many other meal ideas in this collaboration and I will link all the channels taking part so you can check them out too for more ideas on feeding yourself or your family on a tight budget.
